Enfield Circuit in the London District

Circuit life Churches Resources Contact us

Edmonton

We try to be a very friendly & welcoming church. We have a wide variety of worship styles and fellowship opportunities, helpful worship leaders, vibrant singing groups, lots of young people (and more mature ones too). We have folk from the local area and many from the Carribean, Ghana, Nigeria and other places and ALL ARE WECOME IN THIS PLACE.

We relish being part of the Enfield Circuit and the London District and regularly reflect upon the Methodist Prayer Handbook reminding us that we are part of a worldwide community of faith.

Announcing;

UPDATE ON THE ANNEX
We are hoping to have an official opening night of prayer and praise and will announce this soon. It is also the location for Emily Young’s office. It now also houses the growing Theological Library. We still need Broadband/Wi-Fi and a security/video entry system and improve the sense of spirituality…. but the church has really rallied around in getting it open, up and running. All of the meetings in the space to date have felt very God-inspired. Praise our Lord. If you can help paint or clean or wish to offer towards its finances let us know. If you wish to see the space simply pop in on Sundays when our Junior Church ‘Seniors’ now meet in there. If you wish to book the space for a meeting do please confer with Clinton Channer and the church diary. Thanks to everyone for all your prayers and help so far. Rev’d David

THEOLOGICAL LIBRARY AND HELPFUL GUIDES
We have a range of biblical commentaries and biblical translations for us all to use in the church. We are praying that a nucleus of folk will help lead a Sunday based bible study perhaps once a month.
If you could help or wish to partake do let us know

Copies of the METHODIST CHURCH PRAYER HANDBOOK are available at £3.15 each. Many church family members and friends find them an invaluable resource, focussing on many part of our world each day of the month. Contact Paulette Stephens

CIRCUIT YOUTH WORKER
We are pleased to announce Emily Young has joined us at Edmonton. She took up her post in September 2011 for a 3 year programme. Emily comes to us after training at Brunel and then serving for ten years as the Youth Worker at the United Reformed Church in Kingston upon Thames. She has a degree in History and English from Roehampton College, the University of Surrey. She has been a member at Hinde Street in the West London Mission circuit and trained there as a local preacher.

Emily will spend 75% of her time with us at Edmonton in her first year. The next two years will be wider Circuit focused, while still based at Edmonton and linking our Circuit sister churches and their Youth opportunities.

You will also see her name on the new Preaching Plan as a fully Accredited Local Preacher
