that the 2nd Social Justice Lecture will be given at St Mary’s
Church, Church Hill Road, East Barnet on Tuesday 5th May 2009 at 8pm
by Bev Thomas on the theme
“A
Vision of the Kingdom: exploring themes of equality, diversity and unity from
Revelation 7”
Bev is a very well known
speaker. She is a freelance consultant
and lecturer working on social justice and race issues. She has worked previously as Project
Development Officer for the Churches’ Commission on Racial Justice, board
member of the Evangelical Alliance and the chair of the Christian Socialist
Movement. At Greenbelt 08 she spoke on
‘The Beatification of Enoch Powell.’
This year’s lecture follows
the success of the inaugural lecture in 2008 when Dr Tim Brain spoke about sex
trafficking.
